The award form most Iconic dance of 2019 goes to Kelvin & Oti for the Samba

There were so many good dance to choose from and the cast were so incredible in Series 17 it was so amazing to watch. However, I think when looking back on SCD 2019 the dance that stands out the most and that has gone down in Strictly History was Kelvin & Oti’s Samba in Week one. This may not have been the greatest dance technically and most certainly wasn’t perfect, but the fact that it was so unexpected from him let alone it being week one, make this the most iconic dance of 2019.

The winners of best performance in the final goes to Kelvin & Oti for their Showdance

This dance was so incredible, when they announced the song I wasn’t sure about what they were going to do but Oti once again knocked it out of the park with really throughout and put together routine. I loved how she put in sections from their previous dances, the jumping push ups are now legendary and the switch from the fast section to the slow section with the change in tempo of the song was genius.

The award for best week one dance goes to Kelvin & Oti for their Samba

This dance will be remembered for a long long times, and for it to be a week one dance is just incredible. The fact that Kelvin didn’t know he was doing the show until two weeks before and for him to get the Samba as his first dance was a recipe for disarster, but he went out and absolutely smashed it.

The winner of best Blackpool week dance is Kelvin & Oti for their Jive

This was amazing! Everything came together for them and with the added atmosphere of being in Blackpool it was just incredible. I was a bit worried about Kelvin doing the Jive after the training footage I had seen on ITT but he proved me completely wrong.

The winners for best lift goes to Kelvin & Oti

This lift was perfect, so controlled and such smooth transitions getting in and out of it and it fit perfectly with the concept of the dance and was executed so brilliantly.

Kelvin & Oti – Showdance – 10, 10, 10, 10 40

OMG what a performance from Kelvin & Oti, that dance was packed with so much content and they were able to execute it so cleanly, not missing a step! The different versions of music that were used in that dance made the performance so interesting and enjoyable to watch and you can see how much fun they were having.

Congratulations Kelvin & Oti

Couples Choice

Karim and Amy – Jive

If i loved it the first time, I loved it even more this time without the backing dancers to distract me. It was full of energy, sass and just the right amount of campiness. There is nothing I can say now that hasn’t been said before. The choreography was so fast, so complicated and full of personality that it was everything I could ever want. If I shut my eyes and didnt know I was watching Strictly, I would think I had just turned on Hairspray because he not only epitomised the dance, but also the era and the song and everything Amy gives him. That dance is not easy and he made everything look so effortless from the kicks, flicks and those little nudges and nods that just made everything come together. I would happily watch this dance again and again and again.

Emma and Anton – Viennese Waltz

This was definitely miles better than the first time she did the dance and it really shows how much she has improved not only with her technique but with her confidence and personality. Like always, she had an amazing frame and glided across the floor with such elegance and poise. The only thing was that there may be too much swing and sway for this dance, but it did just seem to work with the whole story. I cant stop saying how good she is at acting these stories and forming a connection with Anton to make us not only watch, but live the performance.

Kelvin and Oti – Samba

Ending Kelvin’s Strictly journey with the dance that stayed it couldn’t have been a better way to finish the show. It was this dance when we realised that this substitute was really something special. Also, if possible, its got almost a hundred times better than the first time and it is one of the best sambas I have ever seen (not including Danny Mac’s which maybe proves that Samba is for Queen Oti). This dance had everything it should from the rhythm, fluidity and I cannot forget those IPS! It was Kelvin’s ability to let himself go and combine masculinity and femininity to create the perfect dance. I can also not to Sri how much this is all down to the partnership between the two – it is magical…
