The award for most improved goes to Alex Scott MBE

This was really a toss up between Alex and Chris, as I truly believe the Chris improved so much during the show as a dancer and each week he was getting better and he made it to the semi final. However, the reason I give the award to Alex is because not only did she improve each week in her dancing ability, she improved in her confidence and in her performance which it think is something Chris already had even before the show. Alex faced a real challenge with changing partners for a few weeks, which she handled brilliantly and also getting some tough comments from the judges, she proved that she was a fantastic dancer and produced some incredible routines.

The Award for the most shocking moment goes to Dev & Dianne and their unexpected elimination in week 4

Even now I still can’t understand why Dev & Dianne we’re eliminated so early on in the competition, their Cha Cha wasn’t the best dance for them but they definetly shouldn’t have been in the bottom two. They had consistently scored highly and the week before the were second on the leaderboard.

The award for best memorable moment goes to the Professional dancer for their red carpet fashioned themed results show dance

This was incredible, it had a clear story of what was going on, all of the pros had their own moments and you could tell that they were all loving it. Event the judges got involved which I love. But Johannes really stole he show with this one! This was a stand out of the pro dances this year.

The award for best judge goes to Craig Revel-Horwood

His judging this year has been fair and very honest, there are always times when I believe he may have been a bit too harsh. But this year his scoring was consistent and his comments were critical but also constructive. He had some fantastic moments on the show this year, Anton and the fake teeth!! and I think over the last few years he has become a lot more likeable on the show.

The winner for the best make up goes to Dev Griffin

The themed weeks in Strictly always deliver the best hair, costume & make up, and Dev’s Movie Week dance to Aladdin was amazing. I commend him on the commitment of going blue not just on the face bot on the body and arms as well, he really embodied the character.

Alex Scott wins the Strictly 2019 award for best hair

This dance was incredible, the costume, the set, the extra dancers, everything came together and the hair was the cherry on top. So well though out and wonderfully executed.

The award for best set/prop goes to Emma & Anton

There were so many amazing sets and props this year that it was really hard to pick the best. But for me Emma, Anton & the Strictly team really got their Cha Cha set right. As much as I didn’t really rate the actual performance I loved the glitterballs dotted around the ballroom, with it being the semi-final and their big push to get to the final it gave the feel of a celebration of Emma’s time on the show.

Best storyline/telling goes to Emma & Aljaz

This was such a beautiful dance by the pair, so elegant and heartfelt with so much emotion conveyed. I was so pleased for Emma, she delivered this perfectly and really did surprise me, I definitely think this was her best dance.

The winners for best lift goes to Kelvin & Oti

This lift was perfect, so controlled and such smooth transitions getting in and out of it and it fit perfectly with the concept of the dance and was executed so brilliantly.

The award for best dance goes to Karim & Amy for the Quickstep in Week 7

This to me is the quickstep of all quicksteps that Strictly has ever produced, the way in which Karim & Amy danced this both times was just sublime. So traditional, clean and classy and yet with that touch of Karim charm that I grew to real,y really love. Everything came together for them which is why I think it was the best dance this year.
