Behind the scenes of It Takes Two

Sorry guys, the reviews for the last 3 dances just went after I accidently clicked off it. So here’s a quick overview:

Ashley and Pasha – hated to admit it but it was great

Seann and Katya – after all the issues this week, I’m glad they came back fighting with those amazing lifts and fast paced dances

Stacey and Kevin – adorable as always and I love me a good foxtrot so it ticked all my boxes with charisma, speed and tons of choreography

Hey guys, before the last of the dances, I want to say that I’m going to start making GIFs again from tomorrow and I hope you love them ❤️

Dances – Part 3

Dr Ranj and Janette – Paso Doble

I am actually quite surprised how good Ranj was this week, especially for someone so smiley and adorable. He had this tough and quite aggressive stance – a little camp but a nice amount of masculinity to balance it out. There was beautiful shaping in the arms, focus in the eyes and his footwork and strength is his core on the knee work was so nice to see and he’s definitely improving. He also looks fabulous.

Kate and Aljaz – Samba

Although it may have not been as good as her other dances, the samba is such a hard dance and I loved watching it which is the main thing. She had such rhythm and let go of all her inhibitions and that’s really what this dance is all about! I saw rolls galore and even though the judges have been harsh, I really enjoyed it and she’s so smiley and that’s all that matters. It does upset me how harsh Shirley was compared to other people and not even picking up on positives.

Graemme and Oti – Jive

Even though it was a bit flat footed at some points, it was another dance from Graemme that was just so fun to watch. He’s got so much energy and I didn’t see his energy falter once as he flew across the floor and kept up with Oti both in terms of steps and musically – like the dance was just infectious and I just love watching the two of them dance together. I don’t know if the judges are just being mean because I thought it was mega awesome.

Dances – Part 2

Katie and Gorka – Jive

She is so inspiring but as much as I hate to say it, like it’s just not as good as some of the others. Even though her acting and personality is shining, she’s just so flat footed and makes her steps look heavy. It also seems like she’s not really beating that music which means that she’s out of time on a lot of it. However, she is such a joy to watch and I love seeing her blossom.

Charles and Karen – Salsa

YAS! He definitely came back with a bang and I was shimmying the entire way through. He was full of so much energy and those hips really don’t lie – like I think I was entranced by his charisma and the fact that he just owned this dance! Also, the lifts were so magnificent and he even made sure he saved that lift which could’ve ended so badly for Karen. He can’t be in that bottom two again because it was fire 🔥

Lauren and AJ – Quickstep

Even with those mistakes in the footwork, Lauren did really well to get back Into the dance and it was overall so cute to watch and it did seem so elegant. She kept up with AJ across that floor and even if it was slightly skippy, she was full of energy and I felt like she put 100% into it and it’s so much better than some of her other dances and the only way is up. She’s like a changed woman and this dance really brought out her personality

Dances – Part 1

Joe and Dianne – Cha Cha

You know what, I don’t like a cha cha at all but it wasn’t half bad for one of the hardest dances. I saw so many attempts at that straight leg and it did make the cha cha look a lot more slick and crisp. But, even though he probably tried, I just didn’t see any hips and, because he’s so skinny, it was even more obvious that he didn’t have any hip action and just looked a bit awkward. I loved how into it he was getting and he is definitely improving week by week and his ability to hear the music really helps!

Vick and Graziano – Quickstep

This was such a cute dance and they looked so adorable. She has really got so much better at acting and the chemistry between the two of them in this dance was so cute and I just felt like I was watching a film. Also, apart from some times where her shoulders were raised into her neck, she was so effortless as she danced across the floor. The timing was perfect and the position of her fingers was so elegant that it all just looked so graceful which made a usually hard dance look so effortless.

Danny and Amy – Viennese Waltz

This is what I love to see from Danny – a smile always makes a dance 100x better and it made me feel so happy watching them dance, not just because I want to be Amy and have that dress. I loved how much he relaxed this week and, along with his attempts at fleckles and beautiful frame, it was just such a beautiful dance to watch – it was so elegant and I could just imagine watching them on the West End or Broadway dancing along to an orchestra and just making me smile!

Faye and Gio – Rumba

I normally hate the rumba but by god, for this dance and week 4, that was absolutely amazing. She had all the emotion we normally never have in this dance, we had amazing and such soft hip action and everything was just so fluid and smooth. It was crazy how much I liked it – the slowness of it didn’t seem to scare her and it just looked so elegant!
