The award for best set/prop goes to Emma & Anton

There were so many amazing sets and props this year that it was really hard to pick the best. But for me Emma, Anton & the Strictly team really got their Cha Cha set right. As much as I didn’t really rate the actual performance I loved the glitterballs dotted around the ballroom, with it being the semi-final and their big push to get to the final it gave the feel of a celebration of Emma’s time on the show.

Best storyline/telling goes to Emma & Aljaz

This was such a beautiful dance by the pair, so elegant and heartfelt with so much emotion conveyed. I was so pleased for Emma, she delivered this perfectly and really did surprise me, I definitely think this was her best dance.

The winners for best lift goes to Kelvin & Oti

This lift was perfect, so controlled and such smooth transitions getting in and out of it and it fit perfectly with the concept of the dance and was executed so brilliantly.

The award for best dance goes to Karim & Amy for the Quickstep in Week 7

This to me is the quickstep of all quicksteps that Strictly has ever produced, the way in which Karim & Amy danced this both times was just sublime. So traditional, clean and classy and yet with that touch of Karim charm that I grew to real,y really love. Everything came together for them which is why I think it was the best dance this year.

The winners of best partnership goes to Catherine & Johannes

You could tell from day one that they really got along and their friendship got stronger and stronger as the weeks went on. It was so lovely to see them having a laugh and that Johannes was able to make Catherine enjoy the Strictly experience and help her relax during what I can only imagine is a nerve wracking and stressful time. Their incredible partnership was also what made their dances that extra bit special, with their rumba during movies week sprining to mind.

The award for best choreography goes to Janette Manrara

Janette put together some of the most beautiful routines this year, with the couples choice contemporary being the stand out. Her partnership with Will was fantastic and Janette did an amazing job of adapting the routines for Will but also not backing down and not letting Will give up by making anything easy, she was able to get the perfect balance that showed of Will’s capabilities and improvements each week.

The winner for best professional dance is Johannes Radebe

I was so excited when strictly announced that Johannes would be getting a partner this year, he was someone that you knew was on the show but didn’t know much about. But my god do we know who he is now, not only did he do a wonderful job with Catherine showing that he is a fantastic teacher and so easy to get along with, but he also made Strictly history and delivered some of the most iconic moments on the show.

The first Strictly Award of 2019 goes to Karim Zeroual for Best Celebrity dancer

The reason I chose Karim as the best celebrity dancer was not just because he is an incredible dancer and from Week one he really caught my eye, but he also had a lot of ups and downs during the final from being the first to score 40 to being in the dance off twice. There were a lot of incredible celebrities this year and the were a few to pick from for this award, but I think Karim really stood out this seires for me.
